“Way Too Early” Odds for Super Bowl 55 | Tampa 2021

A few weeks removed from one of the most exciting Super Bowls of the last decade, the Kansas City Chiefs are your defending Super Bowl champions. As all eyes turn to Tampa for Super Bowl 55, we’re taking a look at the way-too-early odds for the big game in 2021.

The Kansas City Chiefs, of course, are the current odds-on favorites to defend their title from Super Bowl LIV in Miami.
The Baltimore Ravens, one of the hottest teams of the 2019 NFL season, come in a close second to make it to Tampa in 2021.
The San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots round out the top five to make Super Bowl LV.
The Miami Dolphins (+12500) and Washington Redskins (+15000) currently host the lowest odds of making Super Bowl 55.

Road to Super Bowl 54: Divisional Weekend

The Road to Super Bowl 54 in Miami is officially down to eight teams, after what truly was a “wild” card weekend. A quick look at the divisional weekend matchups as we prepare to narrow the field down to the final four.

(6) Minnesota Vikings at (1) San Francisco 49ers — Saturday, January 11, 4:35 p.m. ET on NBC

“A week’s worth of discussion about, yes, running games. This game will feature two of the NFL’s six most productive rushing offenses based on yards. The Vikings are especially dependent on the presence of tailback Dalvin Cook, who has scored 10 touchdowns in their 11 victories and three in their six losses.” — Kevin Seifert, ESPN.com

(6) Tennessee Titans at (1) Baltimore Ravens — Saturday, January 11, 8:15 p.m. ET on CBS

“This game will come down to the quarterbacks… or maybe it won’t. That’s because each side boasts a fantastic rushing attack, with one coming from multiple contributors, and the other carried by one hulking pair of shoulders. History is on the side of Tennessee’s Derrick Henry, as each of the three prior postseason meetings between a team with the NFL’s leader rusher and the league’s best rushing offense have all been won by the former.” — Nick Shook, NFL.com

(4) Houston Texans at (2) Kansas City Chiefs — Sunday, January 12, 3:05 p.m. ET on CBS

“In Week 6 in Kansas City, Houston beat the Chiefs, 31-24. Carlos Hyde had a huge game for the Texans, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown, and QB Deshaun Watson rushed for two TDs of his own. The Texans, who benefited from Buffalo QB Josh Allen’s inaccuracy in the wild-card win over the Bills, will have no such luxury against the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, who has a 65.9 completion percentage. Kansas City’s defense is much improved since the first meeting.

The Chiefs finished the regular season with the league’s seventh-best scoring defense, up from 24^thlast season. That said, the Chiefs are 29^th in the league in yards per carry allowed (4.9) but are fifth best in net yards per passing attempt allowed ( 5.7). Mahomes’ numbers (4,031 yards passing, 26 TDs) weren’t as eye-popping as his 2018 MVP campaign, but he was better at protecting the ball, throwing just five interceptions. (5) Seattle Seahawks at (2) Green Bay Packers — Sunday, January 12, 6:40 p.m. ET on FOX

“These teams have had some legendary and meaningful matchups. In the 2003 postseason, the Packers won an overtime matchup on a pick-six. In 2012, the Seahawks won the “Fail Mary” game on Monday Night Football. In the 2014 NFC Championship Game, the Seahawks came back from a 12-point deficit to win in overtime. Countdown to Super Bowl 2019 Atlanta: Super Bowl XLVII

As we get set for Divisional Weekend in the NFL, two teams on the outside-looking-in at the Road to Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta in 2019, the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, show down in Super Bowl XLVII.

Battle of the Harbaughs

For the very first time in Super Bowl history, two brothers would go head to head as head coaches of their respective teams, as Super Bowl XLVII would become known as the “Harbaugh Bowl,” with brothers Jim (49ers) and John (Ravens) Harbaugh as the opposing head coaches. The Baltimore Ravens would send the legendary linebacker Ray Lewis riding off into retirement with a Super Bowl victory, a 34-31 win over the 49ers, in a game played in front of over 71,000 fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco would walk away with Super Bowl MVP honors in an effort that say him complete 22 of his 33 pass attempts for 287 yards and three touchdowns, the fourth QB in a row to win the award.

The National Anthem would be performed by Alicia Keys, and Super Bowl XLVII halftime would be performed by none other than the incomparable Beyonce.

Broadcasters Jim Nantz and Phil Simms would handle the game, broadcast on CBS, with the cost of a 30-second commercial coming in at $4 million, the highest in Super Bowl history.

Road to Super Bowl 53: Wild Card Weekend

The stage is officially set — what began with 32 teams in September has come down to the final 12, with all eyes on Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for Super Bowl 53. A quick preview of the Wild Card weekend matchups as we kick off the 2018 NFL postseason!

All roads to Atlanta and Super Bowl 53 run through the New Orleans Saints in the NFC, with the Los Angeles Rams the other team sporting a Wild Card weekend bye.

The headlining matchups in the NFC this weekend feature the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Seattle Seahawks, and the NFC North champion Chicago Bears hosting the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Saturday: Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys, 8:15 p.m. ET (FOX) | Sunday: Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears, 4:40 p.m. ET (NBC)

Up until the waning minutes of the 2018 regular season, the AFC’s playoff picture was still very much in flux. With the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots winning to secure their first-round byes, the Los Angeles Chargers were the only remaining team locked into their playoff spot ahead of a crucial Sunday night matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans.

Winners of 9 of their last 10 games (and the remaining wild card spot), the red hot Indianapolis Colts’ victory Sunday night cemented the matchups, heading back to Houston to take on the division-rival Texans in a rubber match, with the Baltimore Ravens hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.

NFL Division Preview: AFC North

Though historically one of the the stronger divisions in the NFL, the AFC North experienced somewhat of a down year in 2015. We take a look at the AFC North’s path to Super Bowl 51 in Houston.

Last Year (2015): Cincinnati Bengals (12-4), Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6), Baltimore Ravens (5-11), Cleveland Browns (3-13)

The Cincinnati Bengals saw one of their best seasons in nearly a decade in 2015, yet continued to show their playoff woes. Following quarterback Andy Dalton’s broken thumb, Cincy was relegated to rely on QB A.J. McCarron, who struggled mightily in the playoffs.

The Steelers, who were hot and cold throughout the season, made it into the playoffs before losing to the New England Patriots in the divisional round. The team returns its core of Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown on offense, regaining the services of running back Le’Veon Bell following a knee injury in 2015.

The Baltimore Ravens are still reeling from their 2015 campaign, which saw a devastating knee injury sustained to QB Joe Flacco in the closing weeks of the season. Flacco plans to be ready to play at the beginning of the season, at what form or level remains to be seen.

And the Cleveland Browns. Well, they were the Cleveland Browns in 2015. The team is hoping to utilize the services of quarterback and former #2 pick Robert Griffin III, following the release of Johnny Manziel. The team, with new head coach Hue Jackson, looks to try and end the “Cleveland curse,” but still remains quite a mess.

Prediction: The Bengals will continue to rule the roost, in close contention with the Steelers. The drop from #2 to #3 in the division is a cliff.
