Count Up to Super Bowl 50: A Look at Super Bowl X

Super Bowl X was an exciting American football game between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Pittsburgh Steelers won the game 21-17.  Super Bowl X was played in January 18, 1976 with a total of 80,187 people in attendance.

An interesting fact of Super Bowl X is that the Cowboys and Steelers were both very loved teams back in 1976, so this was a highly anticipated game. Lynn Swann of the Steelers managed to catch four passes and create a Super Bowl record for 161 yards and 1 touchdown. Super Bowl X was unique because Lynn Swann was named the first wide receiver to become an SB MVP.

The National Anthem during Super Bowl X was sung by Tom Sullivan in unison with Up With People. The Halftime Show was equally entertaining by Up With People who contributed a show to America’s Bicentennial. Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshier  were the main announcers at Super Bowl X. A brand could expect to pay around $110,000 for a 30 second commercial around the time Super Bowl X was airing and the SB X was played on the CBS Network.
