Did you know that the Europeans have won seven of the last nine Ryder Cups, including the last two consecutively? Next year’s Ryder Cup will be held in September in Gleneagles, Scotland, but our American team hopes to bring the Cup back to our soil for the following competition, by securing a win at the upcoming tournament.

American team captain, Tom Watson, recently chose his vice captain, Andy North, for the upcoming Ryder Cup. North said he “was absolutely giddy over the opportunity not only hopefully to have a role to get the Cup back but also to be able to help a dear friend”.

North is a well-known name in the golf world, as he was the U.S. Open champion in both 1978 and 1985, and he has also competed previously in a Ryder Cup in 1985.

Tom Watson said he hopes by adding North to the team, they will gain the experience they need to get the best of the European teams this time around.
