Ed Hodge, a former Gleneagles employee and nearby resident of the famed location, has written a book outlining the history of the Ryder Cup, Gleneagles and the intertwining relationship the two have had for nearly 100 years now.
The book launched during the Johnnie Walker Championship where honored guests were invited to celebrate the launch of the book, Jewel in the Glen: Gleneagles, Golf and the Ryder Cup.
Hodge used his expertise of the location and his personal accounts from over the years to write as full a history as has ever been written about this historic location. He interviewed famous golfers from all over the world, including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Paul McGinley, Tom Watson, Sam Torrance, Sir Jackie Stewart, Andy Murray, Stephen Hendry and Kenny Dalglish. He also interviewed a number of other celebrity and well-noted guests who have attended events at the Gleneagles in the past.
