Hot Ticket – Sting & Paul Simon on Stage Together
February 26th, 2014 by John Nichols
Longtime friends and New York City neighbors Sting and Paul Simon embark on their first-ever, co-headlining tour.
Sting and Paul Simon’s On Stage Together tour blends the musical stylings of two iconic singer/songwriters for an evening of total entertainment. The tour kicked off recently in Houston for 21 shows in North America, and quickly added performances in several cities.
Sting and Simon performed together for the first time last May at the annual Robin Hood Foundation benefit, an organization dedicated to ending poverty in New York City. “There was this audible gasp in the room,” Sting tells Rolling Stone Magazine. “We thought, ‘Why don’t we see if we can take it somewhere else?'” Both think the collaborative tour was too good to pass up.
Concert goers are treated to duets by the two artists, such as “Brand New Day,” “Boy in the Bubble,” “Fields of Gold” and “Mother and Child Reunion.” Each performer also plays solo, with fan favorites such as Sting’s “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” and “Englishman in New York,” and Simon’s “Crazy Love” and “Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard.” Sweet!

“It’s really about exploring new possibilities … This has the potential to be something special.”

Meanwhile, both rock stars are working on separate projects: while Simon is working on a studio album, Sting is planning for the June opening of his musical, The Last Ship, which comes to Broadway in the fall. Find tickets for The Last Ship at Tickets.BullseyeEventGroup.com as well!
