A Rich History of Masters Tournament Golf

Every April, the world’s headlining names in golf gather in Augusta, Georgia in an effort to take home the title of “Master”.

The Masters Tournament, an invitation only event for the most elite names in golf, began way back in 1934. In the many years since then, the Masters Tournament has been handing out green jackets to those who truly earn them, to the best of the best in the game of golf.

There are those who have won the tournament numerous times; names like Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and more recently, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. There are also dozens of men who have been lucky and talented enough to take home just one green jacket, a jacket they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

The Masters may be the newest of the four “Major” competitions in golf, but many consider it to be the most prestigious, offering the only tournament to be played on the same landscape every year.

Do you have a favorite memory of the Masters Tournament, or perhaps a favorite golfer that took home the title of Master? Do you think last year’s winner, Adam Scott, will repeat this year and take home another green jacket?
