Game Preview: Indianapolis Colts v. Buffalo Bills

The Colts first game of the season will be against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 13. After four weeks of preseason games following training camp, hopefully the Colts will have all the kinks worked out, so they’ll be running smoothly for the start of a promising season. Kick off to the 2015 season will be in New York.

The Buffalo Bills are presenting a new face to their franchise this year with the hiring of head coach Rex Ryan. The Bills will likely be a good defensive team again this year, and with the addition of Rex Ryan, this first game will give fans a glimpse into how the Colts high-powered offense functions against a solid defense.

For the defensive line, the pair of defensive ends in Jerry Hughes and Mario Williams work well together to forced fumbles and sacks. Williams was named to his first All-Pro First-Team in 2014. Jerry Hughes was drafted by the Colts way back in 2010 in the first round, and has gone onto great success with the Bills. Another defensive tackle in Marcell Dareus is good on both the rush and the pass, but he won’t be playing in the game against the Colts.

As far as offense goes, running back, LeSean McCoy carries most of the offense for the Bills. He was one of two running backs in the league to have over three hundred carries, and without a definite and solid quarterback, McCoy is likely to remain in the spotlight (for more than just his Instagram antics.) This game will be a good first test to see if the Colts can stop the run, with which they had so much trouble last year.
