October 25 marked a big day for Super Bowl fans everywhere; only 100 days remaining until the big game! The first cold-weather Super Bowl will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Feb. 2nd, 2014, and football fans will be flocking to the surrounding areas for days on either side of the game.
In celebration of the countdown, the partnering New York/New Jersey Host Committee, Jets committee member, Robert W. Johnson IV and the Giants’ Jonathan Tisch all appeared at a special breakfast hosted by The Association For a Better New York.
The next day, the Latino Heritage Family Day offered hands-on activities, performances and tours at the Newark Museum. This event was joined by the Blood Center of New Jersey’s Blood Mobile. The Blood Mobile stayed parked outside of the Newark Museum for over four hours, collecting blood from museum visitors and event participants. Donors were entered to win 2 tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium, and donors were also given tickets to the museum’s planetarium to use on a return visit.
